Bob Greene

Bob Greene, who passed away in 2013, is a legendary figure in New Orleans jazz history. He played in the US and all over the world for over sixty years, including many years with the New Orleans Preservation Hall Jazz Band. He played with many of the great jazz artists of all time, and has a vast repertoire of music from the golden age of jazz. Like many jazz artists today, Bob has a large following in Europe and Japan, and spent a significant portion of the year touring abroad. One can only hope that with the availability of more releases like this, American listeners will rediscover some of the musical treasures that foreign audiences have been savoring for years.

Not surprisingly, Mr. Green was also a scholar of the history of American jazz. Among his publications is a biography of Ferdinand "Jelly Roll" Morton.
